António Calçada is currently the Executive Managing Director and Vice President of the Repsol Foundation. His responsibilities include organizing and coordinating projects that fulfill the company’s commitment to corporate responsibility.
Until December 2018, António Calçada was a member of the Downstream Executive Committee, CEO of Repsol Comercial (RCPP), President of Repsol Portugal, President of Air Miles, S.A., and served on the boards of various companies and joint ventures within the Repsol Group (Petrocat, Terminales Canarios, and Gespevesa).
As Executive Managing Director of the Repsol Group, he led for several years the businesses of service stations, direct sales, international aviation, and marketing in four countries: Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Mexico.
All of this is thanks to his extensive knowledge of the retail and sales and distribution sectors in different markets and cultures across Europe and Latin America.
He began his career in the 1980s at the American multinational Exxon. There, he worked in various sectors and markets (Spain, Portugal, Italy, and North Africa), ranging from chemicals and petrochemicals to fuels and lubricants.
He is one of the founders of the Portuguese Diaspora Council and has been a member since 2012. Currently, on the Portuguese Diaspora Council, António Calçada de Sá serves as President of the Council’s Board.
He is the current President of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in Spain and in 2012 received the “Iberian Manager of the Year” award granted by the Luso-Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Lisbon.
In 2014, he was decorated by the President of the Portuguese Republic with the National Order of Prince Henry at the rank of “Commander” for services rendered to Portugal as a citizen and as an executive at Repsol.
António Calçada de Sá holds a degree in Chemical Engineering (Industrial Area) from the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in Lisbon, and later obtained an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid and Corporate Resource Management at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.
