Founder and CEO of Restless Global

As a media entrepreneur, writer and producer, Marie Lora-Mungai’s work over the past 13 years has focused on creating compelling content that challenges the world’s understanding of Africa. She is the Founder and CEO of Restless Global, an advisory and production company specialized in the African media industry. Marie previously founded and ran, a pioneer African VOD platform (acquired by TRACE TV), and Buni Media, the production company behind the massively popular political satire shows The XYZ Show (Kenya) and Ogas At The Top (Nigeria), which she also co-created. During her first career as an award-winning television journalist, Marie worked across 3 continents and 15 African countries for CNN, Reuters TV, AFP TV and the BBC. She was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2017. “It’s about time that Europe and Africa unite in a Partnership of Equals. Platforms like the EurAfrican Forum have a big role to play in reshaping the African narrative away from “the danger of a single story” and in bringing forth Africa’s wonderful wealth, depth, and complexity.” Marie Lora-Mungai
