Jon’s experience in Africa, as VP EMEA for the world’s leading irrigation company was a major catalyst in the creation of ImpactAgri in 2015.
Prior to this, his 25 year senior management career with several blue chip manufacturers spanned the UK, USA, France and Middle East.
His first hand experiences in Africa, led him to the conviction that agriculture could only succeed as a catalyst for economic development by creating an investable farming system that focusses on the entire value chain. This is fundamental to the ImpactAgri business model which is unique in combining solid financial returns for investors whilst protecting the environment, engaging in regenerative agriculture practices, and with the inclusive development of local farmers as a key component of the approach.
Jon has a wealth of experience in simultaneously managing sizeable P&L’s, driving continuous improvement whilst operating companies successfully in a multi-country environment.
He has specific experience in agribusinesses in northern Senegal, Namibia, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Zambia, South Africa, Gabon, Cameroon, Uganda and Madagascar.
People like working with Jon because of his direct approach, his drive, ambition, his good track record, his measured optimism and his much needed humility in executing large sustainable impact creating businesses.
Jon’s early career in the mining industry, his B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering, and his experience since in power, water and agri infrastructure have given him a good grounding in driving links between agriculture and mining which is an ever increasing niche and poses a significant opportunity for serious corridor development in vulnerable areas.
Jon is most proud of driving profitable and sustainable growth in EMEA and the USA, whilst making a difference, delivering tangible results and creating an enjoyable work environment for all those involved.
