Shrikesh Laxmidas

Shrikesh Laxmidas has been Editor-in-Chief of Agência Lusa since August 2021. He was Deputy Director of Jornal Económico for five years starting in 2016, having participated in the launch and growth of the weekly paper edition and digital products, including the website, JE TV, applications and presence on social networks. Specialized in financial and corporate journalism, he won the ‘Best Media Article on Capital Markets’ award at the Euronext Lisbon Awards 2019, having also presented more than 100 editions of the weekly program ‘Mercados em Ação’. He worked at the global news agency Reuters for a decade. In Lisbon he wrote in international and national service, on macroeconomics, politics, business, markets and sport. He was the agency’s correspondent in Angola for three years. Shrikesh holds a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of York, and an MA in International Journalism from the City University of London.
