Son of Alentejo parents and born and raised on the south bank of the Tagus river, José Carlos Lourinho is editor of Jornal Económico and journalist since 1997 with experience in several media in Portugal and extensive editorial experience in various areas with work carried out in European and African countries. Since 2018 he has been presenting and being editor-in-chief of the oldest programme on the economics of sport in Portugal: Jogo Económico. Premiering on JE’s streaming channel, this space in which the bills and millions around Portuguese and international sport are debated, quickly also began to be broadcast on cable with the transfer to the channel “A Bola TV”, where it is still broadcast. In addition, this journalist assumes a great preponderance in the multimedia aspect of JE and is responsible for the coordination of several weekly podcasts that strengthen the offer of this journal, calling on himself to conduct weekly spaces of political analysis such as “Maquiavel para Principiantes” and “A Arte do Possível”. Off screen, José Carlos Lourinho likes to run, does trails frequently and has a special passion for sports, cooking and music, especially indie rock.
