João Pedro Taborda

Board Member, Portuguese Diáspora Council

João Pedro Taborda is Embraer’s Vice President for Government Affairs in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, being responsible for the company’s institutional relationship in this region, and for monitoring public policies impacting the Aerospace and Defense industry.

He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, a school where he also completed his Master’s degree in Technology Management and Engineering Policies with specialization in the subject of economic compensation in large public acquisitions. He holds a Master’s Degree in Diplomacy and International Relations from the Geneva School of Diplomacy.

Since joining Embraer in 2005, João has been supporting the development of business in sales campaigns related with Defense aircraft, as well as with commercial jets for airlines.

He has been involved since 2006 in Embraer teams conducted negotiations with the Portuguese Government and the European Commission that resulted in the installation in Évora of two factories to produce aeronautical segments in metallic materials and composite materials, and in an Engineering and Technology Center at Embraer Portugal.

In the context of these functions, since 2019 he is also responsible in the Direction of the OGMA for the area of Government Affairs.

He is a member of the Strategic Council of AED Cluster and a Board Member at Council of the Portuguese Diaspora.
