Ines has over 20y years of experience in development banking and in the financial industry.
Ines currently heads the Impact & Partnerships department at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) covering donor co-financing and impact assessment of projects from inclusion to green.
Prior to the current role, Ines was a Director for SME Finance & Development group at EBRD designing advisory and investment products to small businesses across all countries of operation.
Ines joined the EBRD in 2005 integrating the Treasury department. Subsequently, she joined the Financial Institutions team at EBRD. Before EBRD, Ines worked in investment banking in London where she covered the EMEA region. Ines has also worked for the Central Bank of Portugal focussing on international matters.
A Portuguese/British national, Ines holds a MSc degree in Economics from the London School of Economics.
EBRD green economy financing reached 50 percent of total business volume in 2022. While already operating in northern Africa, in May 2023 the Board of Governors of EBRD approved amendments to the Bank’s statutes to enable the limited and incremental expansion of its operations to sub-Saharan Africa.
